RN – Surgical ICU
Queen Emma Tower 4 SICU is an all private room 11 bed unit with designated isolation rooms (2), hemodialysis rooms (2), and Psych room (1). The unit operates on a 24 hour basis, with 24 hour Intensive coverage.
QET 4C SICU provides care for pediatric (age between 28 days and 17 years old) and adult patients. Most frequent diagnoses include: multiple trauma and high risk and critically ill surgical patients. QET 4C SICU also provides care to overflow medical, neuroscience, and cardiac ICU patients.
JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for coordinating clinical care of patient. Integrates all health care providers to ensure high quality patient/family outcomes, and establishes a consistent and accountable relationship with patient/family. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, initiation and development of the plan of care, patient/family education, utilization management and discharge planning.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification and Licensure:
•Licensure: Registered Nurse, State of Hawaii
•Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing; Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred.
•Current BLS/HCP card in all areas; ACLS, NALS and/or PALS in designated areas.
•Ability to read, write, speak and understand English effectively.
Additional Surgical/Trauma ICU RN requirements include:
•Current ACLS certification.
•At least 2 years ICU RN experience in a trauma ICU setting.
•CCRN, TNCC, CNRN and CATN certification preferred
