AHEC Ke Anuenue (The Rainbow) AHEC serves Hawai'i County with offices in Hilo and a network of community learning centers, created through partnerships with other not profit organizations, across the island. VISION: Ke Anuenue AHEC is a not for profit organization that embraces the cultural concepts of lokahi and pono while striving to develop multidisciplinary, culturally sensitive community-based collaborations and partnerships that will improve the health of all Hawai'i Island communities. To do this, we develop opportunities for education to health care professionals and for community members. MISSION: Ke Anuenue AHEC's mission is to improve the health of the underserved through education. Palau AHEC Palau AHEC is a joint program with the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), Palau Ministry of Health, University of Auckland Faculty of Medicine, Fiji School of Medicine School of Public Health & Primary Care, and Palau Community College Program. VISION: The Palau AHEC was established to respond to identified disparities in health among the US Associated Pacific Islands. MISSION: Provide in-country primary care training for the regional health workforce in Palau and the neighboring Micronesian Islands. The initial goal of the Palau AHEC is to provide primary care and public health residency training for 20 medical officers from the Medical Officer Training Program so that these physicians can return to their communities to support the public health infrastructure there.
