On June 22, 2001, an evening of celebration was held at the Hilo Yatch Club honoring Uncle Billy Kimi for his outstanding contribution to the medical school programs in Hilo. Uncle Billy has supplied housing and other support for over 50 medical students and residents over the last 5 years. His gift of support and aloha is invaluable to the medical school. Uncle Billy was presented with a commemorative plaque, paddle, book of letters from students and art piece.
