Calling all High School and Undergraduate Researchers!

The Hawaii Pacific Basin Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is offering a remote research opportunity for high school and undergraduate students with our annual Health Workforce Study. Hawaii is facing a staggering shortage of healthcare professionals. AHEC conducts annual research to assess where help is needed the most and takes action to address those needs. This vital research is the backbone of everything we do at AHEC, such as funding loan repayment and scholarships, recruiting physicians to Hawaii, and student programs to educate and inspire the next generation.

In addition to a formal report, research findings are presented annually at the Hawaii Health Workforce Summit. The program will run from June 1, 2022 till September 17th, 2022 at the workforce summit. Hours are flexible, choose when you work during regular business hours (8am – 5pm). The entire experience will be remote with the exception of the presentations.
